Free Climate Action Summer Camp for CPS High School Students
Free Climate Action Summer Camp for CPS High School Students
The climate crisis is getting worse; heat waves, flooding, and pollution are harming the people we love and the city we call home. At the same time, our public schools provide poor environments for students to learn and for teachers to educate.
If we—students, teachers, parents, and community members—come together across lines of race and class, we can pass a Green New Deal for CPS: fixing our public school buildings, providing pathways to green jobs, teaching the truth about the climate crisis, guaranteeing healthy meals, and creating plans for when climate disasters hit.
Together, we will remake our schools to take on the greatest crisis we’ve ever seen, and we will pave the way for the rest of society to follow. It’s our schools, our lives, and our futures. We’re ready to win a Green New Deal.
Camp is open to high school students (grades 9-12 in the fall of 2024). We have two sessions of camp to choose from, and both sessions cover the same set of leadership and advocacy skills!
- Camp Session 1: August 2-4 (Friday/weekend track)
- Camp Session 2: August 6-8 (Tuesday-Thursday track
- 10 am-4 pm each day
