The Happy Invention – History and Significance of Picture Postcards

UChicago alumna and Founding Curator of the Curt Teich Postcard Archives Collection (now part of the Newberry Library) Katherine Hamilton-Smith will speak about “The Happy Invention: History and Significance of Picture Postcards.”  And to say a few words of welcome, longtime Hyde Park resident and president of the Newberry Library – the first woman president of the Library and the tenth – Astrida Orle Tantillo will join Katherine in saying a few words.

The audience is invited to bring along any postcards of interest. Katherine will be happy to answer any questions following the Q & A.
