Meet your “Battle Boo” before Valentine’s Day through games, teamwork, and real connection at a Black veteran–owned bakery.

Battle Boo Bakery is an intentional Valentine’s experience in celebration of Black History Month and in alignment with the Black Veterans Expo mission to help people discover and invest in Black veteran–owned businesses.

Hosted inside Strugglebeard Bakery, this night brings together singles from the military, veteran, and Chicagoland communities who care about how they show up, where their money goes, and finding love.

Instead of awkward small talk, you’ll pair up for competition-based activities like karaoke, card games, and portrait drawing. These are designed to reveal how you would communicate and move as a team if things were to grow—because relationships are built on teamwork.

Three crowd-favorite pairs will receive a $50 first-date tab at a Black veteran–owned restaurant of their choice. That is our investment into you and the black veteran-owned businesses we serve. Whether you leave with a Battle Boo, a Battle Buddy (a new friend), or just more clarity about what you want, you’ll walk away having shown up with intention.

Come connect.
Compete.
And maybe become one of the top three couples.
