When David Heard
Chicago Chorale opens its 25th Anniversary Season with two settings of “When David Heard”: Thomas Tomkins’ early 17th century version and Eric Whitacre’s heartrending 2012 setting. The program also features Bernstein’s “Missa brevis” alongside Psalm settings by Brahms, George Walker, and Judith Weir. The music of this program ranges from introspective and austere to rhythmic and exuberant. Sunday, November 15th at 3 pm at Hyde Park Union Church, with Guest Conductor Benjamin Rivera. Tickets available at chicagochorale.org.
