The Spotlight Reading Series

The Spotlight Reading Series introduces Chicagoans to the rarely produced written works and ideas of Black artists, in an effort to honor and illuminate their contributions to the theatrical canon.

This year’s Spotlight Reading Series will feature works authored and inspired by Lorraine Hansberry. Over three days, we will explore her literary and political voice as a playwright, an activist, and a queer author from Chicago’s South Side → Learn more

The Spotlight Reading Series is from July 31 – August 2, 2024, and all events will be held at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts (915 E 60th Street). All events are free and open to the public, and reservations are required.
