Civic at Kenwood Academy: Dreams and Reveries (FREE CONCERT)
This is an amazing opportunity to experience the Civic Orchestra of Chicago right in your own backyard for free! And it will be extra special because students from Kenwood will be performing side-by-side with Civic Orchestra musicians.
Ken-David Masur conducts a dream sequence of pieces. Berlioz’s feverish portrait of an obsessed lover’s opium dream comes complete with a whirling ballroom scene, cackling witches and a slashing guillotine. Anna Clyne’s Masquerade evokes the 18th-century promenade concerts held in London’s pleasure gardens.
