Embroidery on Knitwear
Students will learn to embellish their knitted and crocheted pieces using basic embroidery stitches. Students will learn how to choose materials for embroidery, how to choose the best placement for your design, how to stabilize knitted fabric before embroidering, and how to work basic embroidery stitches: back stitch, stem stitch, french knots, chain stitch, laisy daisy stitch, satin stitch.
When: Saturday, July 18, 1-4 pm
Level: All skill levels
Pre-requisites: None, but some prior knowledge of basic embroidery stitches can come in handy. Ages 15+.
Included in class: 8″ Embroidery hoop, wash-away embroidery stabilizer, chenille needles, sketching materials, and handouts.
What to bring: A knitted or crocheted garment/piece to embroider on, scrap yarn they might like to use, pins, and embroidery scissors. Embroidery floss and yarn are available to purchase in the shop.
