Free Talk: The Business of Film: Film and TV Production in Chicago
Peter Hawley, Director of the Illinois Film Office, a part of the State of Illinois’s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity under the office of Governor Pritzker, will discuss the importance of the Office as a stream of revenue for the state through its tax credits and as an ambassador for the state in bringing business to Illinois. Peter will describe how the Office provides support to production companies who come to the state to create comedy-drama series such as The Bear. Mr. Hawley is an alumnus of UChicago (MLA, ’00).
Not to be missed – Peter will also talk about filmmaking around Hyde Park and the rest of Chicago, currently as well as in the past and will be showing outtakes from select films.
