Feeling a bit overwhelmed by your new sewing machine? Or maybe it’s been a while since you last sewed, and you’re concerned you’ve forgotten some basics. In this welcoming, hands-on workshop, Symone guides you through every step, starting with the basics. You’ll gain practical experience using your own machine, master troubleshooting tips, and complete a simple tea towel to showcase your progress. Every question is encouraged, and you’ll leave with not just new skills, but renewed confidence and excitement for your next sewing project.

You’ll learn:

  • To wind a bobbin
  • Thread the machine
  • Straight stitch and backstitch, change stitch types,
  • Change the needle
  • Troubleshoot and simple maintenance
  • Sew a basic tea towel

Level: Beginner. No prior experience needed.

Pre-requisites: Must have a sewing machine. Ages 12+

Included in class: Fabric and thread to make a simple tea towel.

What to bring:

  • Your sewing machine, foot pedal, and power cord.
  • Any attachments and supplies (bobbins, feet, spare needles) that came with the machine.
  • The manual, if you have one.
