Visible Mending for Knitwear
Learn to mend your knitwear with style. Bring one or two knit items and repair them in class. Students will receive a demonstration of knitwear mending techniques such as woven darning, Swiss darning/duplicate stitch, Scotch darning, and mattress stitch. A general overview of basic embroidery on knitwear will also be provided. Mending materials included.
Level: Beginner. All skill levels
Pre-requisites: None, but basic knitting and embroidery skills will come in handy. Ages 15+.
Included in class: A simple starter kit – 1 Clover darning yarn card, scrap yarn, printed technique instructions, and a tapestry needle.
What to bring: Bring one or two knit items that need repairs.
