Dawn A.M. Eatery
Dawn, a southern-inspired brunch restaurant, will open in Hyde Park in September, replacing Piccolo Mondo.
Located at 1642 E. 56th St. in the historic Windermere House, the restaurant will serve breakfast all day alongside a cocktail and drink menu curated by owner Raquel Fields. Dinner options will also be served in the early evening.
The menu, which Fields chose to mostly keep secret, is influenced by her experience visiting grandparents growing up, which were widely centered around food. She said her relatives seemed to feed her entire being through one plate.
“It was a way that they gave their love to us,” Fields said. “We’re trying to bring that back to Dawn, where we’re a gathering place for friends and family and individuals to come and have a great meal that can give them a nod or reminiscence back to those more nostalgic days of sitting down with grandma.”
The drink menu will feature coffee cocktails as well as signature cocktails. A handful of soft-launch events are being planned at the beginning of September to introduce the drinks.
