Garrett Popcorn Shops was started by a female entrepreneur, who developed the now-famous recipes in her family kitchen. The first Shops in Chicago sold CaramelCrisp, CheeseCorn, Buttery and Plain for 5 cents a bag alongside homemade fudge and roasted nuts. Kernels were hot-air popped, CaramelCrisp was cooked in copper kettles, and finished recipes were hand scooped right before fans’ eyes. Just like today.
Our Shops cook Garrett Popcorn in small batches throughout each day and our ecommerce kitchen is no different. Cooked on the day we ship your order, each recipe is made with simple ingredients, never with preservatives, and always by cooks using the same secret family recipes handed across generations. Our quality ingredients, welcoming experience, and (almost) addictive taste has made us the Chicago-style gourmet popcorn for over 70 years.
The new Hyde Park location is anticipated to open in May 2025.
